Looking for 500 lb chain fall FOUND!

Have been trying to find a 500 lb chain fall (chain block/hoist) and have had no luck.
In my younger days it was hard to find higher tonnage hoist and the small light weight hoist was real common.

I need it for loading my mill and lathe and need the short height & fast chain action as overhead is limited. ;)
I also had found a shop built chain fall on the internet but can not seem to find now and it was perfect for my application.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

this is the article I was hunting for. http://www.frets.com/HomeShopTech/Projects/MiniHoist/minihoist.html
Thanks

Hate to say it but have you looked at Harbor Freight? I think they have 500, 750. 1000. 1500 and 1 tons as well as the bigger stuff too. A 500 on a small jib crain would be perfect for lifting full sheets of steel and placing them on the cnc table. Now you have me thinking of a way to manage the material so I can use my machine again......

Yes I did look at all the usual outlets but all were to tall in height from hook to hook.
So I started digging out material to build one:drool:
A reason to make chips:drool:

Tool Box Hoist

Harbor Freight carries a small 500 lb lever operated CHAIN hoist. I have one and have not used it much but like it fine so far. I think it may do the job for you. It has a quite short hook to hook distance. Mine is Put away right now and I cannot get at it to measure but you can check one out at the store, or perhaps on their website..
It is small enough to carry in the tool box for someone that has frequent use for one.

Personally, I'd be wary of Harbor Fright chain falls, I've seen them fail internally before they were even dirty. I own, and have used Jet brand ones with no problems at all.
