pick up a logan lathe, i think its a 10 inch. Just replaced all the bushings in the apron and got that back together. But when i went to rebuild the feed gears i found 2 broken gears. Wondering if anyone knows how to identify the pitch and so on so i could find a replacement or even better does anyone have a used set I could buy. It's the large and small one that goes inside the handle. about 2 5/8 OD. maybe by luck some one has a broken handle with good gears. thanks

Wow, some of those teeth look absolutely brutalized
Logan may have them but they won't be cheap

yeah they are bad. i hate to think of the cost of new. got to be someone with a broken handle.

just ran into another problem. found out the small gear inside the gear box is gone also. think im just going to part it out .

Or, look for a similar model with different problems and make one good one out of the two.
I miss my little 10" Logan. she also needed work when I got her. Complete headstock rebuild.
Yes, was expensive. And Scott Logan patiently walked me through the rebuild step by step. All included in the price of the bearings.
Was worth every nickel.

funny the headstock on mine seems to be the only part that doesn't need replacing. lol. my ways are good too. not sure what it's called but the large gear that sits under the headstock pulleys has one tooth missing, the slowest gear in the power feed is gone, and the 2 gears in the handle are gone so this is gonna add up real fast.

Do what makes sense to you.
But as suggested by others spur gears might be repaired or fabbed.
Yes, the first one is huge intimidating.
A mill and DH make it easy. But a file, hacksaw and patience is all that is needed. Really depends on your personal situation, goals and finances. Nothing wrong with selling, parting, or repair.

I continue to maintain that it doesn't take big money to stay safe, have fun and do good work.

I have a mill so i can cut the gears. but altogether I need 4 and the large one is cast so not sure having it welded will hold. really hoping to find some one in here that either has or needs parts

Brazing the cast gear will hold, and replacing the smaller gears might not cost too much- price it out before you part it out
