See like FZ would say, there is the crux of the biscuit. When I was a solo virtual vulture I’d see this stuff and would think is he trying to tell why he really is dumping this or did he know there was anything wrong? Most times I didn’t know enough to be more than curious. Having so many here whom you can bounce this off who actually know is so satisfying and I have learned so much. When a complete noob I was constantly overwhelmed so couldn’t see details.

You're right, but a least he didn't conceal it, which is what most sellers would do. It's an old lathe, which means there's ALWAYS something to find.
