I always would have liked a Pratt & Whitney toolroom lathe; a friend found one in the SF Bay area and got it about 10 years ago for considerably less than that, it was from the toolroom of Schlage Lock Co, it was said that they had a bunch of them. I had a Monarch 12" model CK, nice machine too, but won't take change gears for special threads or metric, then there is the Monarch EE and a similar Rivett toolroom lathe. At my age, I no longer lust after more or fancier lathes, what I have now will do anything that I need or want to do.

My friend did db work at Schlage, always referred to it as "Slave Lock Co"

db work? I had a friend who worked there in the toolroom post WW-2, said a good many Germans worked there, including one that he finally recognized after days of them looking back and forth at each other, turned out he had met the guy in a POW camp on the Isle of Man, where my friend was a visitor, the other guy was the POW.
