I was helping a friend of mine, also on this forum, with a job cutting 60degr grooves on a roller that are used on a wood plaining machine I think.
He asked me because I have a small BS-0 dividing head and he has a Bridgeport mill wich bed travel are longer than my knee mill. Or so we thought. We actually sort of came up short....... but we made it work with the tailstock. The tailstock was basically just used to keep the roler centered. We clamped it down, but only just and was playing with fire a bit. I had to clamp the roler down every time after a divisional rotation and Neal had to help, but we got the job done. Just for sharing sake. Thanks for viewing.
