We have a heap of linbide blades (tungsten scraper) at work seeings they are tungsten carbide seems a shame to throw them away

Do you think they would be okay to turn into some sort or lathe or mill tooling?

Layton---I would rescue them and definitely not throw them away---what are their dimensions and are they all the same ?---carbide is always very useful and expensive and has many good applications----you will find a good use for them someday---Dave

Might make a parting tool. Can't hurt to just try something.:)

50mm long, 12mm wide, 2.5mm thick

Yep they are all exactly the same size

They actually also have fairly good value as scrap. Definitely do not throw them away.

seems to me, their scrap value would be good
i also see the potential for a lot of tooling to be formed from the blades too
you may be able to form and braze bits to backing materials and create some very useful custom tools

we are only limited by imagination and will!

$17.50/ lb. last time I looked. Might be much lower now. Haven't checked the scrapper in months.
