Greetings,
I just got done installing a new work light for my South Bend 10K lathe, and I wanted to share it with you guys. I went to my local building salvage yard and picked up a warehouse dock light for 30 bucks. I centered the wall mount on the machine at a height of 6' and it covers the entire machine. This light has 5 axis, so I can adjust it for most any need on the machine. Works very well, now I can see what I am screwing up!

OOOOOOHHHHH!!!!! I really like that light!!!!
Send it over with the lathe and i will do extensive testing for you!!!:lmao:

I too like a lot of light so that i can do that final pass and end up with a part that is just too small!!!:lmao:

Great mod and great find!!!!

Nice easy solution for us aging / blind hobbyists. I also keep a magnifying glass nearby.

I was thinking about the round magnifying lamp for mine, but could not find one yet. Yours looks like it will work just fine, but for me doing close small work I do need some magnifying instead of leaning over the compound to see.

Bookshops sometimes have big Fresnel magnifier sheets, about 8" x 11", for reading small print - I've wondered whether sandwiching one between sheets of Lexan or similar and mounting the assembly on a gooseneck or magnetic stand would make a magnifying chip shield - could be useful for those of us with weak eyes and soft skin :)

Another great idea. I'll try that in the near future.

Nice light and good mount. Looking to do a light on mine as well. Will probably end up with a florescent magnifier light on mine. I like your light better but can't see finding one at our scrap yard. :( Nice score.
