Is there lathe dogs for different dia and different lathes was wondering, got a cple projects comming up where i will be turning between centers where dogs will be needed thanks guys:cool:

Yes there is I just got one with 4" whole to use for a project and I'll be using it on my 20 X 60 ATW Lathe. I think the smallest one I've seen is with a 1/2 whole.

I'd say it was for a smaller Lathe than my ATW prolly could use it on my 13" South Bend.

Thank you much Paul, i was wondering while i was looking on ebay, i don't think i will need anything over 2" but i was wanting to get a set for my 11" lathe ,only had this lathe for just over a yr and it didnt come with alot of tooling so i'm having to piece my tooling assortment:biggrin:

I just knock one together when a situation arises. I like to keep 2-3 strips of 1/2" key stock on hand for many reasons other than key stock, one being I can make up a dog really quickly with a couple pieces and some all thread. Or, any thing in the scrap box that might work too.

i thought about that by using some thick wall pipe with the inside dian of what i needed 1/2 3/4 etc it would be easey to weld a leg on it and drill a hole for a bolt:thinking:

here was mine she passed away 4 months ago 3 days after my nephew was killed in a truck wreck:halo:

There are also strait leg and bent leg dogs, so it depends on what sort of drive plate you are going to use as well. The dogs only have a curtain range so a 1 1/2 inch one wont hold 1/2 round material.

I finally bought a few off EZ accessories on ebay a while back because they are so expensive over here and I have made my own for years. They where only about $5 to $10 each for the 1/2 to 2 1/2 inch ones.
I was buying some other gear and just filled the flat rate box up with these so postage cost was nothing for the set.

Here is some links, they don't have them all listed at the moment but if you contact them I am sure they will list them for you.

This is the sort of price we pay for the same thing over here
