I noticed a couple of my D1-6 spindle cams are worn.
Worn meaning I can see a wear groove on some of them. My new Bison 4 jaw and PBM 8" lock up fine.
My concern is two fold, Is this a lock up integrity issue? will it cause uneven lockup on the taper?
My 5C chuck is stubborn but it was super cheap. In fact I am replacing it with a TMX (no machining required) 5C collet chuck and D1-6 adapter.
I want to make sure the cams are in good shape. The lathe is 50 years old.
Is this a maintenance item?
Thank you,
Jeff
