Had a brain fart, decided to turn on a mandrel. Soon as it started cutting it tore whole out in center and bent mandrel to scrap. Then got the four jaw and mounted right. Turned one edge then second mistake, decided to drill center to inch and half, well broke shank off drill bit as I went too fast. Dang it just a 3/4 cr plate. Well got another bit, then bored whole to accept a taper bushing to go in center of wheel.
Anyway I show what the finished wheel should look like. tommie

Sounds like it gave you a fair bit of trouble, but you managed to get through it. It looks like it was alot of work too. Cool looking project. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds like many of my "projects" and the trail of destruction I leave behind. :p ;)

Your results look much better than mine though. Interesting project, what's the paddle wheel going to be used for?

Basicly they sepperate one end of fish pond and circulate the water with this. The majority of water is more or less a settlement pond. The wheel is connected to a 60in pipe through levee with screens on other side to contain fish. The return pipe on further down has screen on fish side and pipe just discharges in settlement pond.
Its a new twist on mixing they have been researching for last ten years. I'm not real up with this as I am just building something they want and it pays bills. I have told people we can make anything metal so last year someone needed crawfish boiling pots with crain out of aluminum and we impressed ourselves with the results. Someone is always needing something built. Now all I need is time.
On the paddlewheel we have orders for two with possibly 30 more next year. Lot of work for two men, but hey that is money in the bank. tommie

Money in the bank is a good thing these days----plus where else are they going to buy them at.

Yep, need money to pay bills. At least that's what the wife keeps telling me. It's still kind of neat to be involved and contribute to different projects like that especially when one is being paid for it.
