KAMA EV 996 Bandsaw - $3,200 (south san francisco, CA)

That’s the exact one the Rong Fu is making now. Nicholas post a pic and vid and I think it’s even the same model #. And way less than half that much if I remember right.

I bought a Kama for our tool and die shop more than 15 years ago. That little saw is still going strong and been an unbelievable workhorse. Everyone and their brothers mother including the asian suspects have copied the design. I can’t speak to the quality of the copies but would love a Kama in my home shop. If a used one in good shape ever comes up near me I’d grab it. They rarely do tho.

It was the power down feed version so it was more. I think it was in the $4k range.
A brand new manual feed is like $3,500 so $3,200 is not much discount even tho they say its never used.
Most hobbyists cant justify the price of these things there are many far less costly options to chop stock up.
Depending on the quality if execution, an import version could be a great way to go.

If the seller had just bought it and turned around to sell it, I'd say 2/3 of new. This thing is 20 yrs old, so I'd start at 1/2 of new. If you're really interested, send him an offer and walk away. If he doesn't get any bites at that high price, he might call back.

[Edit] I read it again and looked at the picture. First, that picture seems too composed, like it's lifted from some other source. Also, the text says that it's "been in storage for several years", which is a strange thing to say about something that's unused. I wonder if *he* never used it, but maybe the former owner used it? Hard to say but fishy.

I don’t doubt it’s a nice saw but MrWhoopee has posted several nice saws from the semi local CL and while they are not of the style, they were very heavy duty and around $300. As a hobbyist not directly making any $$ from the saw my interest is only curiosity. My 40yld HF 4x6 might not be as hi quality but it doesn’t own me a dime as it’s been far more reliable than I could expect for less than a 1/10 the cost. When it comes to my wallet cost is king. Yeah, I’m cheap and proud of it :)
