All,
Currently on Ebay, there is a K. O. Lee A600 Tool and Cutter Grinder listed for $500. Appears to be in good condition.
Is this a good piece to get for a workshop ?

Depends what tooling comes with it; a t&c grinder without tooling is nearly worthless so far as owning it is concerned.

None of the A600’s I saw had any work heads with them and there were separate work heads for $300+ so as typical it looks like most of them were parted from the machines. This is very typical. You can get double and triple that $500 to get the machine useful. The best ready to go rig I saw was a Cuttermaster for less than $1,000. It was ready to go and are good machines.

I agree on the cuttermaster, perhaps a bit limited as to versatility, but very good at what it does best --- sharpening end mills.

And I think that’s what most folks buy a cutter grinder for. If that would have been available I would have bought that instead of the Checkel I bought.
