My Jet grinder came with solid cast iron tool rests, however they had a rough cast surface, and were not square with the wheels. I milled the tops of the rests to get smooth, machined surfaces that were at right angles with the wheels when looking front to back. I will probably replace the rests with aftermarket pieces at some point, but these will do for the time being.

I have that grinder in the 'industrial' version inbound as we speak. It will replace the taiwan 6" grinder my Dad bought for me in 1988. I beat that thing like a red headed step child for all them years since. I hope this bad ass Jet lives up to the adverts.

Keep us posted. I will do the same.
