Jet 18 Jmd Mill Owners, Help Please

the motor on my jet 18 jmd quit. hsa anyone tried to run a 1 1/2 hp motor on this mill, instead of a 2 hp?

The stock "2hp" motor is probably actually 1.5hp anyway.

I agree with Will. I have a Jet 16 mill/drill 220v 1 hp and it works great. thomas s

Hi... commandeering the thread:
I recently picked up a 1988 JMD-18 mill/drill that had been stored (well) for over 10 years. Cleaning, oiling, etc. The manual refers to filling the spindle grease, yet nothing in the manual indicates where one might make such an addition, and I see no obvious places to add any.
Any tips?

Looks like the spindle has to come apart to get greased. Looks like you take the top nut off of the spindle and it comes out the bottom.
