Good evening all,

Before, I spend a large amount of time cabling up a tachometer on the lathe and a ACU-RITE KT3D edge finder on the mill. I want to verify that they will work with my setup, I'm running TouchDRO not Plus.

This is the hardware I’m using.

Hi Lynn,
KT3D is one of the "recommended" touch probes for TouchDRO. The catch is that [I think] the firmware you are using has a bug in the probe code that might affect the performance (I messed up handing of the default state for NC probes). I just came back from a long weekend trip and too tired to look through my notes. I will try to figure this out tomorrow.
If you are in the States, the safest thing would be to have me reprogram your unit, but you can try it as is and see if the probe behaves right (you won't damange anything, it's just a software thing).

KT3D cabling question, on my Rev. 2.0 adapter the touch probe port has 3 pins.

Pin - 1 +5 volts
Pin - 2 Signal
Pin - 3 Ground

The KT3D has a single shielded wire

That's connected to Pin 2

Is Pin - 3 supposed to be grounded to the mill?

Thanks,
Lynn M.
