Indicator set up

I would like to install a indicator in this hole . The hole is 8MM . I was going to turn down one of my rod on a magnetic indicator stand .. I hate to ruin a stand. Can anyone tell me where I can find a set up for this location. I see lots of quill set up but nothing for this location.BF9A7C07-D1A4-41F9-B17E-2D914E218EBE.jpeg

I originally used a 5/16" drill blank in mine ('55 Bridgeport), then replaced it with a 12" length of 5/16" drill rod (O1, I think). No need for the precision-ground stuff, since everything will be fixed once tightened - not a sliding/bearing surface.

As for the rest, I used some indicator clamps (also called "snugs") which take a 5/16" rod in one clamp, and a 1/4" rod in the other. From there, is is pretty much adjust to taste.

Noga sells a 8 MM holder w/wo a fine adjustment, otherwise just turn down some rod and mount it to a block with sized holes for your holder and locking set screw/knob to secure the holder rod/base. I do that on top of a magnetic base, the block has holes for the rod in different angles/directions with a locking knob.

If you mean your noga or magnetic base arm is > 5/16 or 8mm, then sure, it probably is.
Use some drill rod and indicator swivel clamps to construct an indicator mount specific to your mill. One 5/16 in the head, vertical, and another the diameter of your dial indicator mount (1/4 often work) going horizontal.

my indicator mount is bigger than 5/16

Obviously, the term "set up" is too ambiguous.
Why not describe the whole thing you want, from end to end?
Describe (show) what you have to work with (want to keep) and what additional features you require.

Ok guys I will take pictures tomorrow and post then. All I want to do is make sure a ak 47 trunnion is level square and set up for drilling the barrel pin.

I don't need to know what you want to indicate unless you need help on how to indicate it.
I thought your OP was about adapting an indicator holder to the 8 mm hole on your mill.
I also thought that question was well answered, however I got the impression that you weren't satisfied yet.
If you need more help please describe what you want more completely.

my indicator mount is bigger than 5/16

What is the significance of that info?
Post a picture of your indicator mount (if you intend it to be part of the solution).
