I'm going to go take a look at this Monday

He says 'asking $2500'................

I know DRO is more helpful for a mill but this model does have one.

And thanks for your opinions and experience.

I took a look at this today. Current owner has rebuilt a much bigger Monarch (as well as a massive mill) and clearly knows what he's doing. The Jet lathe is very well kept, the DRO is nicely attached and his homemade control panel is nice as well. Dunno, only 20" between, no power cross feed. Owner said he would take offers but looking at the PM 1030v I see it is $3000 with DRO, larger bore, etc, etc.....

The PM 1030V does look like a nicer machine all the way around. What do you want to do with it? What sort of projects do you see your self working on?

Actually, either is bigger than I truly need as I build radio control airplanes. I have a unimat SL lathe for the little parts that I need for scale building. I might get into landing gear making, brake hubs or something that might tax the unimat. That and just entertainment that a larger lathe can provide.

Thx for asking.
