Igaging dro magnetic scales

Does anyone know of a supplier of JUST the magnetic scale portion. I have a 6” scale and read head that I don’t have a use for, and would like to get 24” of the magnetic scale material to use with the read head I already have. Not worth the trouble? Not fiscally sound? Penny wise and pound foolish? All comments appreciated.
