Ok Guys

I just helped my friend pick up this very interesting little horizontal mill, which I am trying to help him ID. It's driving me nuts! :)

There are some interesting traits that should make it easy to ID, but after scouring Tony Griffith's Lathes.co.uk site, and Googling the HECK out of it, I am still turning up dry!
So ANY help ID'ing, or even identifying the USE of the machine would be great help.

-It has strange dials on Y and Z - Z goes from 0-25-0... Very fine feed, and strange denominations?
and Y goes from 0-50-0.
-Art Deco Style
-Box Ways (not dovetail)
-It is a floor standing unit, about 52 inches tall.
-Ram style Overarm, NOT dovetail, but bolted directly to the body of the mill.
-It has a geared transmission in the head of some kind, with an oil filler and window to check. BUT what looks to be the shift lever is stuck in one position, a little jiggly, but won't disengage or change.
-It has a RACK feed in the X direction.

A good shot of the Art Deco Stripes, the shifter whose purpose we haven't determined, and the Ram overarm.

NO info hidden under this board. Just more Art Deco Sculpture.

Did you see the numbers/words on the right and left side of the dial? I can't make them out. (might be a clue)

Thanks Dan!

Yes, there are a few places where there are some odd numbers stamped, looks to be by hand, but nothing recognizable as a machine, or even a patent.

Charlie Brown would say: AAAgh! :)

The first thing that came to mind was a Childs miller, they had art deco stripes too, but it was much smaller.

I think you have a really cool machine there. Be sure to send Tony the pictures along with any data.

The rack suggests a machine meant for production.

Could the numbers imply metric?

It might be German, or French, or Scandanavien, or.......

You might want to post this over on the Practical Machinist site in the Antique Machinery sub-forum.

Bernie---what a nice looking small mill---I thought I was the only one who has a small milling machine that no-one has identified---I'm wondering if you have taken the arbor shaft off to see what the taper is in the spindle, and the threads on the drawbar---they may give a clue--very nice machine---Dave
