Picked this sub forum because I'm not sure were this should go... If it belongs somewhere else, please let me know.

Picked up this vintage Ideal Tachometer on FleaBay for $18. The dial cover is split and the face is separated from the cover. Someone attempted to fix it with zip ties and silicon RTV...

The pieces fit together well and I'm thinking it can be epoxied easily. Considering using Devcon Plastic Welder. I've had great luck with Devcon Plastic Steel for bedding rifle actions and I considered using it, but I'm not sure how well it will bond to this plastic.

Plan is to go ahead and clean it up and make it work. Have to replace the cord for the generator also.

If I get of this mountain tomorrow, I'll pick up what's needed and get it done this weekend.

Be very, VERY, careful about keeping ANY metal chips/dust away from that meter movement. They get sucked into that magnet gap where the armature coil swings and jam things up. They're a B&*^h to get out!

Other than that, Cool find.

Devcon 5 min. Epoxy Gel worked great. Made a new leather handle for the box and replaced the cord for remote operation.

It works. Max rpm at 70Hz is 2600 for the drill press.
