Have posted at Logan site, but no response yet. So, yes, I did actually purchase this machine, but before you think I'm crazy, it was for the turret, cross slide, and possibly the production collet closer. My plan was to clean up and part out the rest, and since I got a very good price, I would clear enough to cover the price and still have these accessories that I wanted, i.e., make a buck at these old beaters instead of having them cost me for the restoration. But instead, I kept looking at it sitting in my front yard, and gradually it occurred to me that I might need a dedicated machine to run those accessories on. So, I'm in the process of cleaning up the lathe itself and fixing stuff, etc. and planning to keep it. So rather than making money, it's costing me for paint, a few parts, and lots of my time.

Ok, now you can think I'm crazy.

The question is, can anybody id the maker of the turret or the collect closer? The cross slide is Logan, but I'm not sure about the others. Based on the pics, any ideas?

Since you have a Logan lathe there, the collet closure is more than likely made by Logan. It don't look like any after market ones I've seen in my past. Could be wrong, though.
Check out Logan Actuator's website for additionl information. Also check out Vintage Machinery's website, too.

The turret may be original equipment. Here's a image from one of Logan's brochures showing the turret on their 1830 and 1840 10" lathes

You made the right choice. Always like to see old American iron restored verses parting out. You aren't crazy. Just have the same diseases the rest of us have. PS: No known cure.
