Somewhere, possibly on another forum, I saw that someone used a lever operated, cam like device to lock down the carriage on a 9X20. I went to a yard sale at our little local bicycle shop a few days ago. I picked up a couple of the Quick-disconnect levers that are evidently used on wheels of some bicycles. I think that they are used to make it easier and faster to fix flats.....or something. It just looks like another place to have a failure, but now I'm getting off topic. I shortened the shaft, which was the perfect size to thread to 10-32, and mounted it where my lathe had used a small allen head bolt to tighten down the saddle to the ways. Now, it's so easy to snug everything down for facing operations. And now....the evidence.
