I Bought a Bunch of Expanding Mandrels

I had a set of those, they can be handy for slightly enlarging holes that are too hard to ream, or otherwise get to size.

Sounds like a challenge Bob!
Yes. I have some laps, Clover compound in an assortment of grits, and a good assortment of diamond lapping syringes. I really need to start working with them to get up to speed for when I really need them.

Watching Tom Lipton's Vids it's easy to get drawn to lapping.
I've got a 12" lapping plate from a auction that's been sitting for a few years now...

At least that is what I thought I was buying. Hundreds of them all sizes in a nice Equipto cabinet drawers.
Turns out they're lapping mandrels just like these. Hundreds I tell ya. haha

Since you're in Red Wing you might want to call the instructors in the band instrument repair program at the technical college (John Huth, Greg Beckwith, and John Maddox) to see if these laps might be of any use to them. By the way, if you haven't ever been over there you should try to get a tour of the band instrument and string instrument repair classrooms. The shops are very interesting. I think they're closed for winter break now but they'll be back in January. I went through the band instrument repair program there 40 years ago and it's still going strong, one of only three such programs in the U.S.

I should do that.
It is sort of sad that that is the only technical type degree left there. No welding, Hvac, nothing.
Oh I stand corrected, Bike frame building just started.
