I realized I did not have the travel stops set for the X axis table travel on my Bridgeport. Mechanical only, it has a Lyman power feed that trips out under load. Do you let it go till just before the end plates hit?
I would not. set it much further in, and when you need it to go all the way adjust it. Usually tables get tight toward the end from the wear being in the middle. No need to have it travel that far unless needed.
Set them so they kick off a couple of inches before anything jams , such as the power feed unit . They will drift somewhat while rapid traversing and you don't want the table to slam into anything expensive .
