How do I use these Lufkin NO 902C holdowns

I got a pair in a machinist box today but not sure how they work . I did a search here and the net but didn’t fine any pictures, thanks Al

Put them between your part and the vise jaws in a mill vise, best to put them up on parallels, not laid flat on the bed of the vise.

Like the old saying goes “ a picture is worth a thousand words “. I’m printing that picture and keeping it with them , might not use them for some time .

I have a set of these I got with my lathe. Had no idea what they were for. Thanks for the info !
