Hi guys.
Do I need a special tool to remove this coupler from my recoil hose and can I re-attach it again? There is a leak in the hose and I just want move tge coupler.

My small hose like that has compression fittings that would need new copper ferrules to change out the hose. My reel hose line is a crimp fitting that would have to be replaced with a reusable fitting assembly.

Heat the hose a little to soften when pushing on the barb and clamping. Also might try an airline fitting for trucks. They use an insert to keep the hose from collapsing and have a longer brass nut on them.

The spring is the hose clamp.

Unscrew the spring then slit the hose with a knife where the spring was.

Pull off hose and smooth over and nicks from knife.

Slide spring back along hose.

Cut to new length.

Push on fitting, may need to warm up with heat gun.

Screw spring back in place.

I cant believe I made it look so complicated. Only difference was the spring. I feel like a goof & blunder  . Thanks @tq60
