I could image interference press fit. Seems the drawings I've seen do not show this. No room for an involute cutter to cut
the gear with the spindle pulley and gear all out of one piece. How ? Is it interference press fitted to the brass ?

Thanks, Stan

Atlas 618 M6-79.pngThe attached photos shows the brass bearing inside.

On the 10 and 12" lathes it's a press fit, and the gear has dogs that engage with the pulley
On the 6" it could be molded as one piece
It's zamak alloy with bronze bushing

Just saw a parts diagram and yes it is one piece on the 6"
