HF Carbide Grinder Water Trays & Cups Work on Baldor 500 Grinder

I purchased a very old Baldor #500 grinder (1958-1962 vintage) for $180 on Ebay. Of course, it was missing the water cup and water trays.

I looked at the Harbor Freight #46727 Grinder (http://www.harborfreight.com/1-2-half-hp-6-inch-tool-grinder-46727.html) thinking that HF, Grizzly and Enco copied Baldor's for their grinders that look a lot alike.

So I checked the manual for the parts list and called HF. After a few weeks, I got the parts. The cups fit perfectly for $8 each (I bought 2), and the water trays, ($9 each), while very rough castings (HF's usual quality), also fit perfectly on the Baldor pins (though as you can see, my left pins are bent so the tray is uneven- I need to fix that somehow).

I want you guys to know- if you are missing these parts, which many grinders sold on Ebay (i.e. Reliable Tools) are, check out HF for cheap replacements. Baldor's prices on these parts are just plain silly.

Nelson,
Sometime when you get a chance measure the center distance of the pins the water trays mount on for me. I have a Delta/Rockwell carbide grinder that's missing the trays and if the mountings are the same I'll order them from HF like you did.
Thanks

I don't think water is good to use to grind tools. I have always used kerosene and wet a rag and put the wet rag on the other side of the grinding wheel to keep wheel wet.
I have never seen water used with diamond wheels.
