I just visited a shop and bought 3 grinders for just a little bit more than weight value. I am happy with the purchase just hope that everything works when I get them moved . One is a mid sized cylindrical grinder with about a 2 foot wheel on it, Norton brand . One is a smaller OD grinder probaly about 16" between centers. Also got a Kao Ming small tool and cutter grinder with accessories. The issue is its a very cramped shop and the are two machines blocking the way to get the grinders out. One is a #3 Cinicinnati horizontal mill and the other is a 18" X 54" Hendey lathe. They are trying to get me to buy one of these so they can free up room to move other machines out as they are sold. I'd like to have the mill but at 9k lbs it's just too much for me. I'd really like the lathe , comes with 2 4 jaw and a 3 jaw chuck, quick change tool post and a bolt on turret head attachment. The issue is it has significant bed wear on it and I told them due to this I really wasn't interested. They want at least $2500 for it. What would be a good offer do you think? It would be good for rough work I guess?
