I am a new year!! I bought a old central machinery lathe and a Roundtower mill from the same guy but never used either. I am retired and live south of San Diego.

Hello and welcome,

You've come to the right place for support in this hobby. First, do you have this equipment moved to your home shop? Once it's in place I'd recommend starting with the lathe, download and read this book before you try making you first chips.

There are plenty of other resources out there including YouTube channels and such but this is one of the best still.

You're in good company with these machines, they are small enough for a modest home shop but big enough to do some real work....
