Alright have another silly issue to attend.

I had previously mentioned I picked up a Dumore Type 16 press. It's great.

Problem is that the runout on small bits is bad enough that it bears replacing. The shaft and outer part of the chuck is not showing any runout. 1/8 bit has no runout, and on this small chuck it sits high out of the jaws. On a bit around 1/16 the runout renders it useless, the issue is internal with the chuck.

Curious if anyone has removed these? Just want to know your method. Tried calling Dumore and kept having to leave messages, I need this for work so the sooner I can get this replaced the better.

From what I know (and have been told by a member here) the chuck is just press fit onto the shaft of the motor assembly.

A pic of the chuck.

So for anyone curious, these are just press fit, thanks for all the advice (not sure where the other posts went, oh well, technology) They will come off with some careful tapping from a wooden wedge which is what I ended up doing. there was rust holding it onto the shaft so a few blasts of WD40 helped to loosen the grip.
