I think I might need to shim my gib. I am reassembling and can get the play out of the saddle by tightening the gib but it sticks out far enough to interfere with the wiper cover. When the gib is flush with the front it is sticking out the back. Should I shim it? If so how do I go about that?

H&W made a great YT video on shimming a BP gib. It's really easy to calculate the shim thickness and to cut the shim. I had to shim the gib on my K&T 2HL but I ended up using shim tape instead of common shim stock.

I came up with 4 thou if I round up. I don’t want to over do it and have issues with the wiper cover on the operators side. What thickness did you end up shimming? Also I’ve watched a few of your videos along h&w’s for taking the knee and everything off.

Great work on your videos.

I think I’m going to cut a little off the back of the gib as I can still adjust it tight. I talked to Zach at h&w and that’s what he advised saying that due to the length you don’t get much adjustment before you are hitting a wiper cover.
