Help in identifying unknown machine (small horizontal / vertical mill)

Hello.

A Craigslist near me (San Bernadino, CA) has this machine listed. They list it as a "CUT KING" Model PC-VHO. Does anyone have any idea what it is? They want $325 for it. It looks like it will need a lot of work. I am wondering if it is worth the trouble as a project, or forget about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 00a0a_dk3tIZmhXV2_07U0gg_1200x900.jpgut it.00X0X_9rC6WX47zRO_07U0gg_1200x900.jpg00u0u_cRnUgR2ATTv_07U0gg_1200x900.jpg

Depends on how in need of another project you are. I think the $325 is a bit pricey, you might try for 250 if you decide you want it. The rust can be cleaned up, but this will require a complete teardown, strip, inspection and reassembly, probably with some repair along the way. You will probably need a lathe and a mill to make the parts if you find anthing needed. If you're in need of a small horizontal mill and have lots of time, it may be for you. Otherwise, I'd let someone who's more of a masochist take this on. As with any used machine, there's also a chance that it's worn out, as well. Another reason not to pay much for it. It looks like it used to have a vertical head, but that is missing. The overarm support looks pretty sketchy and you'll need to acquire an arbor. I've brought machines in similar shape back to operation, but the time input required means you will have put way more value into the machine than it is worth monetarily. Probably the main thing this machine has going for it is that horizontal mills this size are kind of hard to come by. Usually you find the Atlas/Craftsman and the huge ones.

It appears to be missing both the vertical head and the horizontal arbor. Since it's somewhat of an off brand it's going to be hard and maybe nearly impossible to find replacements. I'm sure you could fabricate some parts, but since you don't even know what the vertical head looks like it's going to be hard to find or fabricate a new one.

I'm guessing in its current state it isn't worth much more than scrap value which is $220.00 a ton delivered to the scrap yard. I'm guessing it weighs between 1, 000 lbs. and 1,500 lbs. which make the value around $110.00 to $165.00. A scrapper probably won't even take it since the cost of loading and transporting it to the yard would cost more than they could get for it.

I suspect it is Taiwanese made by the look of the electrical box. Possibly a 1960 or 1970. Leave it be unless you need a table to use as a fixture. No parts and I bet the company is out of business. If it was American made it would have an Osha approved electrical box. You buy that and you will kick yourself in the butt ....lol

Made me laugh...
I found my old MillMaster in a parking lot just as you see it. Two blocks from my house.
When I inquired about it the owner asked me what I thought it was worth.
I replied, "What does it weigh?"
He called me a couple of days later. Said I could have it for a C Note.
I drove the tractor over that afternoon and hauled it home.
