A friend just bought this machine for a good price and needs info on it so he can acquire manuals and a part .

My google skills must be weak because i sure have not turned up this little jewel . It takes 1/2 inch tooling and has no powerfeed .

I'm pretty sure that it's not a Grizzly, but you might look their website and see if they sell a model like it - you may have fun getting a part from HF, so if Grizzly does sell a version it might be a source of parts. Also google Grizzly 3 in one to find older model numbers that may be similar, again for parts sources. Also look at Enco machines and possibly Wholesale Tool machines for a possible match. What part is it needing?
 
The spring tensioner on the mill head is broken off so that the mill can and will just drop if you dont keep the friction lock tight .

More looking turns up that it might be a Chizhou 400 but so far i cannot find an early enough manual online , and i have no idea who all imported them.

The color is the Smithy color... and lots of parts on it are very similar, if not identical, to my Smithy CB-1220
Smithy made an AT 300 that is very similar to the CB-1220 which is very similar to the current Smithy Midas 1220.
You can call Smithy during business hours and my experience has been that you talk to knowledgeable people. They might be of help.

I know Harbor Freight sold a similar looking machine years back, but it was gray.

Does that sticker/decal say made in China? It looks like an HQ400 (Chizhou).

The manual that I have attached here is for the HQ400\1. It's virtually the same except that with the HQ400 (like yours) the mill/drill head could not turn 360 degrees and could not be raised like the HQ400\1.

It is a Central Freight model 5980 which is an LH-oo7. Hope that helps.
