The heat issue with G0704 has been further refined. I have now been able to consistently keep the temperature rise to 12° F or less on both the motor and the lower spindle bearing even with ambient temperatures as high a 94° F. Today's test finalized the control after running nearly 4 hours in low gear at 1128 rpm (worst case condition for the motor) making maximum cuts in Al with a 1/2" rougher.

It ain't pretty but it is functional:

I guess I have been lucky I dever have a heat issue on my G0704. I live on the gulf coast central florida St. Pete. I do take the cover off if I am doing alot of milling Just becouse that was everybody's sugestion when I was looking. I have had mine about 14 mounths now
