Has anything me seen an x y table like this?

I recently bought this xy table off of a coworker with a few other things, it doesn't appear to have an sort of lable tag or any other sort of identification on it. I would like to know who made this and I'm fairly certain it's not some Chinese junk that's just not labeled. It has been hand scraped, has tapered gibs, and table locking tslots so you can lock the whole thing rigid. My only idea is that it may have been a part of a larger machine and that's why there is no label
