I recently acquired an HLV-H.

Is there a way to move the tailstock laterally?

Yes, you have to shim it. I did one once a few years ago.

I would shim it with turkite or Rulon. then it could be flaked to hold oil and prevent more wear.

There doesn't seem to be any wear. Where do I place the shim? Along the gib?
