Hardinge HLV-H $10,999 Las Vegas

If anyone is seriously interested in this machine I would do a thorough inspection before making any kind of offer. Looking at the pictures shows a number of inconsistencies between the "pristine' condition of the paint and other components. The tailstock handle appears to have been broken and repaired. Other control surfaces like the carriage speed control and directional panel shows a fair amount of wear. Paint seems to be missing on the panel face and switches.

The data plate appears to have been cleaned with something that removed the original paint, and covered over when new paint was applied. Note the inconsistent paint boarder along the bottom surface. The same appears to be true of the plate in picture 14. In this case the plate also has some new paint on it. There are also some paint problems on the tailstock in picture 18.

This may be an excellent machine in fine condition. It could also be a "spray can" rebuild with an extremely high price tag. If you're interested just do your diligence. If the machine needs repairs or parts they are expensive and hard to find.

This is not the first time this machine has been posted for sale. IIRC, the price has not changed.

@projectnut ... now that you point it out, it does look like a fresh paint job. The edges of some of the name plates are inperfectly masked. I also noticed what looks like missing hold-down bolts in the closeup photo of the headstock. Wonder what the real story is????

Not the original color . Much darker , maybe a professional restoration . ;)
