Before giving up on your old half nuts, take a close look. The half nuts on my 6" Craftsman wer skipping and it looked like the threads were worn so I replaced them. Later, I looked at them and the threads were packed with gunk. A thorough cleaning and they look and perform like new.

If yours are truly bad and you can't find new ones, PM me.
 
they're pretty reasonable price from Clausing direct. I think mine were $45 inc. shipping or thereabouts.
 
Thanks Guys, the one half nut is bent or twisted, it looks like the half nuts were engaged and the carriage made contact with the tail stock. I will try to bend it back to the original shape. Yes I know it may break, that is why I am looking for a replacement.
