I am wanting to build a cart that it's sole purpose is to house all my sharpening stuff. I was thinking of mounting a couple grinders and a drill bit sharpener on. Was curious if anyone would share pics of what they have or may have built.

That looks nice. I like how it can be moved easily. Definitely going to put some casters on mine.

Figure out a quick way to keep it place if you put casters on. One slip could have bad consequences.

Good point, wonder if locking casters would be enough or would I have to design some kinda brake.

Here’s what I have.

Rockwell combo grinding wheel/belt grinder mounted to one half of the original stand from my lathe. It’s one of the old ones that’s extra thick sheet metal, and the machine is pretty heavy too.

I move it with a hand truck so I guess it’s “mobile”.

Depends on the casters.

It’s possible that you’d never have a problem but sometimes I need to lean into a piece to get the cutting action required.

I have a cart with a floor lock that works well, something like this would be quick and easy to lock down and release.

You also might want a vise on whatever you build so you can clamp parts into it for working with an angle grinder.

These type of mobile bases tend to be pretty stable. Not that you should buy one, but the mechanism would be pretty simple to make.
