Graziano Sag12 Lathe - $2,000 (shingle springs, CA)

Seems like a lot of pig in a poke situations here lately, eh? Says there might be a problem and can’t power it up. I wonder if that seems a good price for something like that?

Hard to say, but they are solid machines and the unknowns give you leverage.

Hmm, the only time that has worked in my favor is when the seller didn’t know, but I did. An unknown problem with an electrical clutch makes my Spidy sense tingle and not under power makes my head hurt.

Those are really nice machines. At that price it would certainly be worth looking at. Although they have a good reputation, their one downfall seems to be those electric clutches. They are actually pretty dependable, but when one goes bad, they are no longer available, so you have to make or have a new coil made. There is a very detailed thread on one of the other machinist forums about how to make a new coil for one of these clutches.
I believe there are four clutches.

It is exactly this wealth of knowledge that makes this forum so valuable.
