I received this small Gorton indexer model # 256-1 with a Benchmaster Mill several years ago and finally getting around to cleaning it for an upcoming project. It is in amazing condition and a very well build indexer. It has a MT 1 spindle and I have a chuck to mount after I make a backing plate. I was searching for a matching tail stock but not having much luck. There is information on the web about the Gorton Machine Co. Racine, Wis., but not a lot on the many accessories they made. If anyone has information on this indexer or may have a tail stock available I would be willing to buy.

I have the indexer also and the accessory catalogs; I have never seen a tailstock for the indexer, likely you would have to make one.

How many pages is the catalog. Would really like to see one. I was thinking I may have to make one.

I assume that Gorton never made tailstocks for that indexer, you would just have to "Wing it".

Before I take the time time to make one, maybe someone would have one that would work. I think I measured it to be 3" to center.
