The past couple times I was out in my shop, my mill vise had a rust colored discoloration on parts of it.
The vise is a Glacern and the rust seems to be sticking to it, not rusting itself.
It cleans off fairly easily, but takes more than wiping off.
I've bee cleaning off and oiling the vise after use, but rust discoloration coming back.
Any advice ???

Did you clamp something that was exposed to soldering flux?

Coat with ISO 46 or equivalent. And don't us WD-40!!! If this is what you are using, stop using it, it will promote brown looking rust on the surface. The other thing that could be happening, if you have a mister on you mill and use it frequently, some of the fluids out there on the market can discolor the surfaces of a vise or your table. Ken

No mister yet, but in process of making one.
I don't use WD-40 been using Way oil to coat vise.
I have used Slick 50 for lubricant when cutting aluminum.
I'd been cutting some mild steel, wasn't sure if something was causing the dust from that to adhere to the vise.
