I am wondering what you guys recommend for free email services. I currently have a gmail account but would like to add another account with a different free service. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I would also prefer a US located company. Thanks for your input.

I personally like Protonmail. Located in Switzerland (they have really strict privacy laws) and they offer a paid subscription as well in case you want to upgrade at some point :encourage:

When I dropped our land line w/ dsl service from Centurylink, now Brightspeed, I fully expected my email account would be closed but eight months later, it is still active. I don't know if it's a free service or it was simply overlooked when I closed the account.

What about an email account through your isp? I have one through our new isp but rather than using their email app, I continue to use my Thunderbird app.

When I left Comcast they notified me that they would still support my email account. That was great as it gave me unlimited time to get my important accounts moved to my new email. I still have that account, but rarely use it (except by accident).

I moved all my important stuff to my new email. Most of what comes to the old email is junk. There is the occasional email from an old vendor or website that I might still want to retain which is why I haven't closed the account.

Proton or build your own server. Anything else pretty much guarantees you'll have a liberal trained AI "filtering" you mail.
