Hey y'all! My dad and I just ordered a Laguna IQ pro to start milling with. He wants it so he has something to do in his free time, and I'm hoping I can make some cool things with it. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone here as any info on flip milling? I'm honestly not sure if that is the correct term, so let me explain. I want to be able to work 2 sides to an object, and have them line up correctly. Any tips to do this, or how to's? Is it possible with our setup? Thanks!

I think what you are describing as "flip' milling, is actually making parts in mirror image. Can it be done on your mill? That would depend on your skills.

Yes it can be done. More information would be better.

It is all a matter of working from a datum on your part(s), then carefully measuring and marking where everything needs to be cut.

I assume by flip milling you mean mounting a part with locating pins, milling one side, and then turning it over to mill the second side, using the same pins to locate it.

Here is a video that shows a good example.
