Hi folks, not been on here a lot of late, too much other stu going on. Tool question:
I picked up a nice used Dumor flex shaft or pendant tool. I’m enjoying the machine but I have it hanging above my bench on a simple hook. This works okay but the motor twists quite strongly when the speed in increases. While I have always wanted one of these and used a friends some, I have little experience. The Dumore unit is on a bracket which allows two degrees of motion but the hook I’m using allows more. I’m hoping to attach a bracket to the bench but hoped someone here had some experience they could share with me. Thanks in advance!

My Foredom came (used) with this lightweight mounting bracket. It allows orientation flexibility but not much twist. Happy to take a better picture of it would help.

thank you for the photo, I have seen that sort of setup on Foredom‘s site also. I can’t tell what is used to connect the bail of the motor to the hanging rod? I want to do a similar setup but my mount is different, perhaps not in a functional way. Right now I would say it twists near 180 degrees if I just “mash” the pedal. It seems a wonderfully useful tool as it has a lot of torque and is so quiet compared to my other die grinder options.

I used to use a pipe clamp (with a short pipe) with a home made hook(modified roller brush handle ) at the end of the pipe , it was ugly but very solid and best of all it was portable , I moved it to wherever I needed to and clamped it to a solid surface. but later on decided to have a specific " grinding/polishing" station and made the same old contraption work with a shop light, then expanded my grinding station by adding a wall bracket (for a vise), diy bit holder for bits and accessories , google foredom stand or flex shaft motor hanger.
Here's a similar type stand (not mine) :

That really helps me thank you! The clip will resist twisting of the motor. Mine is much less elegant!!
