Fantastic idea! Is there a cleat of some sort at the bottom of the plate to give a more positive support, or does it just depends on friction to hold it?
I bought a lifting device that attached to a Kurt vise jaw. Before using it I checked with Kurt and was told that lifting the vise from the jaws could damage the vise. You might want to check with your vise manufacturer.
I modified a Harbor Freight pick up truck box lift assembly, to lift heavy item items off of the 1940 era Bridgeport’s (with a R8, 12 sp mill/drill head) table, mainly, vise, 10” rotary table and the 10” RT’s lathe chuck. I mounted it directly to the column assembly of the mill.
