What's everyones GO_TO 1/4"ID air hose.. must be made in USA, gas/oil resistant?
lives mostly outside, under cover SW Florida. I have an OLD 50ft piece of Kentak Air-Tak that has lasted me forever,
marked : AIR-TAK® HW XXX PSI W.P. MADE IN THE USA.
It does grow mold on it, but its lastest oever 30years down here..

Seems the manufacture lists 300 and 500ft rolls.. i'm looking for just another 50ft.
I found one place that will make 25, 50, 100 or custom , buts wants $108 shlpped for a 50ft air hose,.. UCK.
Whats everyone think?

I have an old orange Horror Fright hose that has been decent

+1 on Goodyear. Not what they used to be, but still better than the import stuff.

I have had good luck with the blue hose that Costco sells, although it tends to stiffen up in colder weather.

The Harbor Freight ones aged out on me and started cracking.

I since went to the green Flexzilla ones and have been quite happy.

The cheap-o hoses from HF/HD seem to have a short life... I bought some better hoses from McMaster. Ive also made my own hoses using the clear PVC tubing with the braided core, that stuff lasts a long time.

I carried around 100 ft of unknown black hose in at work on my cart . It was great as it didn't have a memory , was light and be coiled easily . When I was out on sick leave it disapeared along with half the tools on the cart . I use 1/4" and 3/8" at home now and I hate it . Gets stiff when cold , hard to coil , hard to untangle , kind of like large extension cords . :(

I bought a 100’ flexzilla air hose because it was nice and flexible. I bought replacement ends to make up a couple smaller whip hoses for my work area at work.

They worked great for awhile. But I’m disappointed in the flexibility of them a year later. But it might have something to do with the dirty environment they live in. If I take the time to clean and wipe them down, they regain some of their flexibility back.

Or maybe they don’t like the Hydraulic oil/ cutting oil that seems to be present constantly in my shop.

Usually those hoses seem to be nice and flexible in the granite countertop shop I do maintenance for. But that environment is usually very wet all the time, and hoses only get a coating of granite dust.

At home, I know my cheaper Harbor Frieght air hoses get real stiff in the winter time. But that is one of the prices I pay to live in northern Mi.
