Hello all yes I am new and I'm still learning about your web site. I just purchased this mill and cleaning it up. All though it came with scales for XYZ I'm trying to get everything working. Table feed dial, Both X and Y do not have a set screw to loosen to set dial to 0. All of the other machines I have used have this feature. There is a knurled ring next to the dial I thought may loosen but it does not. The dial with marking have no set screw on it. What looks like the thin knurled part has a role pin in it. The hand wheel it's self does have a set screw.

Welcome to the forum.

My mill/drill is like yours and does not have the ability to zero the dials. You will get used to it. Keep a piece of paper handy to write down the reading on the dial and add the amount that you want to move the dial. On mine on the X & Y axis one full revolution is .125". Seems to be fairly accurate. One full revolution on the Z axis dial is .090 and is not very accurate. I think the inaccuracy comes from the fiction engagement of the fine feed.

Don't be afraid to ask any questions. We are a friendly bunch and there are a lot of really knowledgeable people on here that will provide answers to your questions.

Post a pic of your new toy when you get a chance! You said it came with electronic scales? That would be a bonus

Cheap DRO's are an option as well. Remember, when machining everything is relative to where you started....

Cheap beer is my favorite option :)
Well, it used to be. Now that I'm retired I can afford the better stuff
