My old Bridgeport had a hinged door on the left side of the column, apparently to access a coolant pump if so equipped (mine was not). It was a convenient place to store seldom used accessories.
My new ACER EVS mill has a screwed on plastic panel with no shelf inside. I'd like to replace it with a door and a shelf. Don't have access to a Bridgeport to see details, nor do I remember how their door is hinged and latched, etc.
I could re-purpose the plastic panel I suppose but would prefer an aluminum door.
Anyone ever fabricated such a door? Tips? Pics?
